Local Renewable Company to Perform Wind Study.
Ra Power Solutions, a local renewable energy company, announced yesterday that it has begun a wind study in South Berwick, Maine. A wind study is a necessary pre-requisite to the construction of a wind farm. Anemometers are placed at certain altitudes to determine the strength of the wind on a particular property. Typically these studies are performed for 6-12 months. If the results of the study are positive, Ra Power Solutions will begin the permitting process to build a commercial scale wind farm and provide local customers an option for a clean, renewable energy source. "We are excited to begin a local effort for a renewable energy source. We have heard much about these wind farms across the country and in other parts of Maine. However, this will be the first of its kind in Southern Maine." remarked Ra Power Solutions, President Rick Benoit.
